Obituary of Constance M.A. Kingston

Mrs. Constance Mary Alice Kingston passed away on September 18, 2014 in Saint John. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Kenneth E. Kingston; daughters Jane, Mrs. Raymond Murray, and Ann, Mrs. Ed Jeffrey and by her two beloved grandsons, Rob Jeffrey (Robyn) and Neil Jeffrey (Erin). She was predeceased by her parents, Robert Kennedy Smith and Anna Louise Lowerison Smith and by her infant brother, Robert. Mum lived all of her life in Saint John and was a member of St. Jude’s Anglican Church. She was a lifelong learner, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree from U.N.B.S.J. She was member of the U.N.B.S.J. Alumni and the Canadian Federation of University Women. Artist and art lover, she began working at the Ring Gallery of Art at its inception. Recipient of the Queen's Gold Jubilee Medal, she served as Chair of the New Brunswick Art Rental Services, and was a member of the executive of the Board of the New Brunswick Museum. Always interested in current affairs, Mum’s subscriptions to national and local newspapers ended with her passing. We were so lucky to have Nan in our lives. She was loved dearly. Visitation will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) on Tuesday, September 23 from 5 to 8 pm. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 24 at 12 noon at Brenan’s Chapel. Remembrances may be made to the Oncology or Urology Departments of the Saint John Regional Hospital, the Salvation Army or charity of your choice.
