Obituary of James Curry

The death of James Curry of Saint John, beloved husband of Corrine (Thibodeau) Curry occurred on Sunday, June 21, 2015, at Ridgewood Veterans Wing. Born in Saint John on July 27, 1924, he was the son of the late Clyde and Margaret (MacPherson) Curry. Jimmy was proud of his service time during WWII. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a Longshoreman and was skilled in carpentry. In addition to his wife of 65 years, Jimmy is also survived by his daughters, Karen Davis (Darrell) of Salt Springs and Carol Ann Eksfrom (Paul) of Oromocto; grandchildren, Michelle Power (James), Jamie Power (Jessie) and Christine Mercer (Jeff); seven great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Spray and brothers, George, Charlie and Clyde. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, June 25, 2015, at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
