Obituary of Ellen Amelia Jones

It with great sadness that the family of Ellen Jones beloved wife of the late Frank L. Jones announces her passing, which occurred peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on October 27, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ellen (Dunham) Snow. Prior to her retirement, Ellen was employed for several years at Sears in the baby department. She always took great comfort in her spirituality and was a faithful member of St. John the Baptist (Mission Church) and St. Clement’s. In her younger years, Ellen enjoyed teaching Sunday school, quilting, bowling and loved her daily walks. Ellen is survived by her daughters, Carol Keyes of Saint John, Sharron Chisholm of Saint John and Avis Hills (Gordon) of Rothesay; sister, Annie Chamberlain of Saint John; grandchildren, David Keyes (Jennifer), Michael Keyes, Beth Keyes (Bliss Hanson), Paul Keyes (Nicole) Gregory Keyes (Katherine), Deborah deVries (Chris), Mark Chisholm (Donna), Andrea Hills, Kelly Hills (Duane Parliament) and Kathryn Daigle (Patrice); 18 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Leonard, Gordon, Earl, Gertrude and Willa. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Sunday, November 9, 2014 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Monday, November 10, 2014, at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
