Obituary of Constance S. Beach

The passing of Constance "Connie" Beach of Rothesay, NB occurred on Monday, May 18, 2015, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born on June 15, 1925 in Fredericton, NB and was the daughter of the late William and Josephine (White) Bailey. Connie was predeceased by her husband Robin Beach and son, well known radio announcer Lee Beach. She was also predeceased by her brother Balfour Bailey and half-brothers Douglas, Eldred and Frederick Bailey. Graduating in 1943, Connie worked for the "Chestnut Canoe Co." and "Duffy & Lynch" in Fredericton. She also worked for "Clint Regan’s Style Shop for Men" in Saint John. Connie remained a homemaker after having her son Lee in 1954. After Lee’s passing in 2008, the "Annual Lee Beach Memorial Fund Lobster Supper" was established with all proceeds going to the Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Connie was a proud contributor of this springtime event. Connie is survived by her last remaining sibling Eleanor Minue of Fredericton, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She had many lifelong friends wherever she lived and always referred to them as "my good friend", making you feel as if you were her favourite. As per Connie’s request, there will be no visitation. However, relatives and friends are invited to attend "A Celebration of Connie’s Life", which will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) on Friday, May 22, 2015, at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the SJRH Palliative Care Unit, Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
