Obituary of Muriel Lohnes

We wish to announce the passing of Muriel Laura Frances Lohnes on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Loch Lomond Villa. She was the daughter of the late Evelyn and Harris McGlashen. She was born on March 16, 1920 at Westmorland Parish, Westmorland County, NB. Muriel worked at NB Publishing on the Evening Times Globe newspapers most of her life until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of the Eastern Star and served as past Worthy Grand Matron from 1986 to 1988. She received a life membership in 2009. Muriel and her husband, Don, loved to travel. She loved gardening and flowers and enjoyed spending time with family. She will be sadly missed. She is predeceased by her husband, Donald Lohnes and her brother James McGlashen. Survived by her son Ronald Murray, step-daughter Janette Veniot (Fred) Vancouver, BC, three grandchildren; Sherri McDonald (Paul) of Saint John, NB, Erick Murray (Terri) of Cornwall, ON and Patrick Murray of Halifax, NS, great-grandchildren; Stephanie Cardinal (Allan) of Calgary, AB, Tatum and Katrina Murray and Hannah McDonald. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, 634-7424 with visitation being held on Tuesday, April 28 from 2-4 and 6-8. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 29 at 2pm from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Flowers or donation to the Alzheimer’s Society or Diabetic Association or the charity of donor’s choice would be appreciated. www.brenansfh.com
