Obituary of Harmurari Dutta Tewari

Dr. Harmurari Dutta Tewari, died on Sunday, April 29, 2007 at 12:24am. Harmurari was born on September 17, 1938 to Dr. Mahesh Dutta Tewari and Kawaleshwari Devi of Patna, Bihar, India. Harmurari was the youngest of ten. Amongst 4 older brothers and 5 older sisters, Harmurari chose the path of medicine in which to shine. Harmurari was the only one to follow in his father's footsteps and become a physician. Harmurari was a pioneer in urology for New Brunswick. In 1968 he was the first to introduce the CVP or central venous pressure monitoring system and directed the first jury rigged tubing system in the province. He was also the first to move kidneys to Halifax, NS for transplanting. He has saved many lives. Harmurari is survived by his son, Rakesh, daughter, Shalini, and wife, Usha. He is also cherished by many nieces and nephews; Rajesh, Pradeep, Shailesh, Ragini and Sunny as well as many more family members residing in India. He was a loving husband, a giving father, an invaluable friend, an achieved physician and a remarkable human being. You will be greatly missed. The soul is never born and it never dies. All of us are One with the omnipresent Atma.Bhagwad geeta The memorial services will be held between 5:00 pm-9:00 pm, with prayers from 6:00-7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 1st, 2007 at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). The 11th day memorial place and time will be announced. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation or the Extra Mural Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
