Obituary of Joseph Beddow

The death of Joseph Beddow, husband of the late Ruth (Smith) Beddow of Stevenson Tower, Saint John occurred on February 14, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Sydney Mines, NS on October 19, 1937 he was a son of the late Joseph Sr. and Doris (Snow) Beddow. He worked at various jobs during his life including some janitorial work. Joseph also worked for Coca-Cola Ltd. He was a “Jack of all trades”. Joseph is survived by one son, Rickey, three step sons: Kenneth “Ken”, Vance and Francis Smith; two step daughters: Glenna Comeau and Carol Carrier; three brothers: Harry, Liam,Jack and Adrain Beddow; sister: Marilyn; his caregiver: Darenda Smith; special nephew Jackie and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by one brother Walter and two sisters Alice and Sharon. At Joseph’s Request there will be no traditional visitation or funeral service. A private committal will take place in the spring, in Rusagonis Baptist Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
