Obituary of Raymond Francis Parks

The death of Raymond “Ray” Francis Parks of 241 Hawthorne Avenue Ext., Saint John, devoted and beloved husband of Elizabeth “Betty” M. (Mitchell) Parks, occurred on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on August 11, 1934, he was the son of the late William Otis and Rose Carolyn (Cummings) Parks. Ray was employed at Trecartin Wholesale Ltd. for 23 years before his retirement. His life was a true love story, being married for 51 years and for the past two years, has devoted his life to taking care of his loving wife. In his younger years he played hockey with the Sussex Junior Rangers and always enjoyed camping and ice fishing. Ray taught us the real meaning of love and always made us very proud of him. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by two daughters, Janet Hickey (Donnie) and Debbie Doyle (Dan), two brothers, Ronald D. (Winnie) and Edmund (Florence), sister-in-law, Anne Parks, all of Saint John, three grandchildren, Jacqueline (Jonathan George), Nick and Kayla, two great grandchildren, Nathan and McKyle, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Donald and one sister, Doreen Kelly. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday 7-9 PM and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Church, Clarendon Street, Saint John on Monday, March 12, 2007 at 11:00 AM. interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the Alzheimer’s Society of New Brunswick of the charity of the donors’ choice would be appreciated.
