Obituary of Frances W. Corbett

The death of Frances Corbett of Saint John, NB, wife of the late John C. Corbett, occurred peacefully on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital in the presence of her family. Born in Saint John on May 23, 1923, a daughter of the late Leonard and Ida (McGerighal) Harrison. A graduate of Saint John High School and The University of New Brunswick (BA); prior to her marriage Frances had worked as a legal secretary and then helped her husband with his business, J.H. Pullen Ltd. She was very active in the life of Trinity Church; volunteered for many years as a trustee for the Saint John Free Public Library and the New Brunswick Library Trustee Association. Survived by a nephew, Leonard Cassidy; two nieces, Elsbeth Cassidy and Susan Lockhart; brother-in-law, Russell Cassidy; several grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Sunday from 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Monday, June 25, 2007 at 9:30 am. Interment will be in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to Trinity Church Restoration Fund, The Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or a charity of one’s choice.
