Obituary of Barbara Mae Robertson

Robertson, Barbara Mae – The death of Barbara “Mae” Robertson of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Everett Robertson, occurred on Monday, March 31, 2008 at her residence. Born February 13, 1921 in Douglas, NB, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Greta (Hawkins) Stephens. Mother to daughters, Gail and her husband Gregory Hughes, and Deborah and her husband Owen Stilwell, both of Saint John; grandmother to Bradley (Amy), Kurtis, Martina and Thomas Hughes, Jeremy, Cassandra and Nicholas Stilwell. Predeceased by her sister, Ruth Keene; brothers, Irvine, Aleyne, Jack and Sandy Stephens. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mae worked for Red Rose Tea Co. in Saint John, retiring after 40 years having never missed a day of work. She was an active member of the Saint John Association of the Deaf where she enjoyed the many activities that took place, especially the monthly bingo games. Mae’s hobbies included her love of cats and puzzles. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Peter’s Church, Clarendon St. on Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 11 am. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Saint John Deaf and Hard of Hearing Association or any charity of choice.
