Obituary of Rhona Elizabeth Kennedy

Rhona Elizabeth Kennedy died peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Rocmaura Nursing Home in Saint John, NB, in her 91st year. She was the beloved youngest daughter of the late John and Helen Kennedy and was predeceased by siblings Constance (Edgar) Westhaver, Aileen (Byram) McLaggan all from New Brunswick and Mac (Eleanor) Kennedy of London, Ontario. Rhona will be missed by her nieces and nephews and her many friends in Saint John and Toronto where she spent most of her working career. The Kennedy Clan moved from Daughin, Manitoba where Rhona was born, to Saint John, NB. After completing her education she wanted to follow in her father's footsteps and enter the world of banking. She was working at the Bank of Nova Scotia in Saint John when she transferred to Toronto and retired with many years of service with the same company. Rhona enjoyed golf, lawn bowling, bridge and being an active member of The United Church in Toronto. She moved back to Saint John in 2005 and enjoyed living at Chateau Champlain. One of her great joys was travelling on many cruises over the years. Her family would like to thank the staff at Rocmaura for the kindness and compassion given to her for the past few years. Although there will be no visitation, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 10:00 AM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated by the family.
