Obituary of Ruby Estella Day

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Ruby Estella (Ward) Day , the last surviving member of her immediate family, formerly of the Loch Lomond Villa, wife of the late Bertram H. Day, which occurred unexpectedly on Friday, May 18, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on August 22, 1926 at Salisbury, NB, she was a daughter of the late Sylvester B. and Mary E. (Tait) Ward. Ruby was employed with the CO-OP as a cashier until her retirement. She received her 50 year pin with the Pythian Sisters Lodge #13 and was a member of the Orange Lodge. She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Carroll (Ken) of Nauwigewauk; grandson, Scott Jeffrey Mowry (Suzanne) of South Carolina; several nieces and nephews. Special loved ones, Michelle, Larry, Meghan, Mitch Kucey, Diana and Emery Richard, Marjorie (Midge) Clarke. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by her sisters, Viva Carson, Ardella Wortman, Verna Trecartin, Jessie Burnett and Hazel O’Brien; brothers, Charles, George, Cecil, Clarence and Ted Ward. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 7-9 pm and Monday, May 21, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to a charity of the donor’s choice.
