Obituary of Helen Margaret Thorne

Helen M. Thorne of Cambridge Narrows, and formerly of Victoria Street, Saint John passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Orchard View Long Term Care Home in Gagetown, NB. Born in Saint John on November 22, 1916 she was a daughter of the late Bruce and Jessie May (Foster) Thorne. Helen is survived by her brothers, Wilmot Thorne of Sussex, and John "Jack" Thorne of Gagetown; nieces and nephews Linda Lee (Edward) of Cambridge Narrows, Ken Thorne (Linda) of Ontario, Carol Lee (Robert) of Saint John, and John "Jack" Thorne (Cindy) of Saint John; 11 great nieces and nephews; 20 great great nieces and nephews; 8 great great great nieces and nephews; and several cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Hazel, Robert and Roy Thorne. The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff of Orchard View Long Term Care Home for making Helen so comfortable and cared for during her time there. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 2:00 PM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, New Brunswick Lung Association, or any charity of the donor’s choice.
