Obituary of James Arnold Charlton

With hisfamily at his side, the death of Jim Charlton, husband of Patricia (Conway) Charlton occurred at Rocmaura Nursing Home on Monday, April 1, 2013. He was born on February 19, 1941 in Hoyt, NB to Gertrude Charlton (Mersereau) and the late John Charlton. Jim was an award winning carpenter and cabinet maker by trade; he worked for Hartt’s Lumber and Darkil Construction. In his spare time Jim was involved with Stock Car Racing and loved working on motors. He enjoyed fishing and playing the harmonica and accordion. Jim was a jack-of-all-trades, taking pride in his work doing everything he did to the best of his ability. Besides his loving wife of over 49 years, Patricia; Jim is survived by his three sons: Clinton (Colleen) of Saint John, Jeffrey and Keith (Cynthia) both of Grand Bay-Westfield; daughter, Kim Charlton of Grand Bay-Westfield; four grandchildren: Brea, Kyran, Katherine and Ashley; brothers: Bob (Terry), Kenny (Dorothy) and Ed (Lynne) and several nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his father, John; sister, Ruth Doiron and daughter-in-law, Bridget. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be held from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 10:00 am. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to Alzheimer’s Research would be appreciated by the family.
