Obituary of Norma Helen Breen

Funeral Location Changed to St. Pius X Church 316 Somerset Street, Friday, July 20, 2012 at 12 noon Norma Helen Breen of Saint John, wife of the late John "Jackie" Louis Breen, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Carleton Kirk Nursing Home. Born in Saint John on August 10, 1931, she was a daughter of the late William and Viola (Sellen) Cruickshank. Norma spent her life as a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and was truly the "Wind Beneath Our Wings". Norma is survived by her nine children, Michael Breen, Jacqueline Breen, Patti Legacy (Vince), Paul Breen, all of Saint John, Lynne Breen of Willow Grove, Mark Breen (Heather) of Saint John, Joe Breen of Brown’s Flat, Kelly-Anne Morris (Bob) of Saint John, and Tracey Meahan (Phil) of Rothesay; 23 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brothers William Cruickshank of Ontario and Leslie Cruickshank (Geri) of Rothesay; sisters-in-law Marlene Breen of Saint John and Joy Gibson (Gordon) of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and to her parents, Norma was predeceased by a grandson, Rory Breen; and a sister Ruth LeBlanc and her husband George. The family would like to thank the staff of the Carleton Kirk Nursing Home for the wonderful care our Mother received during her stay the past year. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with family visiting on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 from 2-4 PM, and public visiting on Wednesday from 7-9 PM and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated from St. Pius X Church, 316 Somerset Street on Friday, July 20, 2012 at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Parkinson Foundation, the Carleton Kirk Palliative Care Unit, or the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.
