Obituary of Mary Louise Murphy

Murphy, Mary L. – Mary Louise Murphy of Saint John, wife of the late Charles Franklin Murphy, passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, in her 92nd year on Monday, April 9, 2012. Born in Saint John on April 16, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Natalie (Bourque) Gogan. A longtime resident of south end and the west side, she was employed by Revenue Canada up until her retirement in 1982. She will be remembered fondly for her generosity to family, friends and strangers. Mary was a very prayerful person all of her life and we are sure the Lord has received her into his warm and loving embrace. Mary is survived by her two sons, David (Judy) of Quispamsis and Ernest of Saint John; and one grandson Ryan Murphy of Calgary; and her only surviving brother Albert (Laurette) Gogan of Saint John and many nieces, nephews, cousins and godchildren. Mary was predeceased by; her sisters, Lena, Liza, Dorothy, Zelda; and by brothers Ernest, Frank, William, Edmund, Henry, Edgar, and Leo.. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of the Assumption, 360 Dufferin Row, on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
