Obituary of Douglas Albert Murray

It is with great sadness that the family of Douglas Albert Murray, of Quispamsis, husband of Edna (Cawthra) Murray, announces his passing on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on December 24, 1925 in Fredericton, NB, he was a son of the late Reginald and Queenie (Boone) Murray. In 1972, Douglas moved to Saint John where he started his career as a Lab Technician at Rothesay Paper Ltd, retiring in 1991. Douglas is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Edna; one son, John and Glenna Murray of Maple Ridge, BC; four daughters, Linda and Carl Hunter of Bloomfield Station, NB; Pamela Beam (William) of Nanaimo, BC; Rebecca and Eric Maxwell of Quispamsis, NB and Ann and Frank Spragg of Sussex Corner, NB; seventeen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one nephew, Stephen and one niece, Susan. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Frances Peacock. The family would like to say thank you to the doctor, nurses and staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their care and compassion. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 2:00 pm from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Fredericton Rural Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish remembrances may be made to any charity of the donor’s choice.
