Obituary of Ardith Lorraine Melanson

Ardith Lorraine Melanson of Musquash, wife of Philip H. Melanson, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, with her family by her side. Born in Saint John on May 21, 1961, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Dorothy (Ganong) Belding. Ardith had recently become employed at her dream job, working at Youngsters Day Care. She loved children, and enjoyed babysitting her nieces and nephews and other local children. She also enjoyed playing Bingo, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 69. In addition to her husband of 23 years, Ardith is survived by her daughters, Erin Tiner (Caleb) of Chance Harbour and Katie Melanson of Musquash; brothers and sisters Donna McGowan (Bob) of Saint John, Nancy Williams of Chance Harbour, John Belding (Elaine) of Chance Harbour, Lynn Lambert (Hal) of Saint John, Richard Belding (Judy) of Saint John, Marsha LeBlanc (James) of Calgary, AB, Kevin Belding (Ann) of Chance Harbour, and Andrew Belding (Jackie) of Maces Bay; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ardith was predeceased by a brother, Terry Belding. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 2:00 PM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in the Chance Harbour Cemetery.
