Obituary of Ruth Elizabeth Murphy

 

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth Elizabeth (Tippett) Murphy, on August 16, 2020 at the Church of St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home. She was born in Saint John on August 30, 1937 and was the daughter of the late John and Winnifred (Gorham) Tippett.

 

In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband Arthur J. Murphy (1998), her brother Roy J. Tippett (2005) and granddaughter Chelsea Murphy (1996).

 

Ruth was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where she was involved in many of the church’s ministries. She is survived by her six sons, Paul (Krista), Vaughn (Wendy), Grant (Mary Jane), Blake (Lorrie), Evan (Cherrie) and Owen as well as her sister Esther MacKay, brother-in-law, Donald MacKay and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

 

Ruth’s family would like to thank the management and staff at the Church of St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home for the excellent care they provided her with during her short time at the home.

 

Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB (634-7425). With visitation on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM, a funeral service will be held from the Bay View Chapel on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. The family has asked those who attend to wear a mask.
