Obituary of James O'Brien

The death of James (Bud) O'Brien, husband of Lorna (Pare¢) O'Brien, in his 84th year, occurred on March 31, 2003, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late James and Ella (McNeeley) O'Brien. James was a World War II veteran, after the war he worked for the CPR retiring as foreman. James' passion and hobby was his carpentry work which he toiled at tirelessly his entire life, making many special items for his family. He was always helping his family and friends. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, James R. O'Brien Jr., Saint John, NB, and Jonathan O'Brien (Jennifer), Indiana, USA, three daughters, Kimberley Melanson (Jack), Saint John, NB, Theresa Ellefsen (John), Saint John, NB, Shelley Gerrior (Stephen), Saint John, NB, twelve grandchildren, Leah, Stephanie, Kristen and Gregory Melanson, Erica, Gina and Jason Ellefsen, Sarah Robichaud, Joshua, Erin, Clarke and Kathleen Gerrior, also several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers Ervin and Noel O'Brien, three sisters, Regina and Frances O'Brien, and Stella Donaldson. Resting at Brenan's Bayview Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (506) 634-7425, with visitation on Tuesday from 7-9 PM, and Wednesday 2-4, 7-9 PM. The funeral mass will be held on Thursday April 3, 2003, at 10:00 AM, at St. Peters Roman Catholic Church. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery following the service. At the request of the family remembrances may be made to Romero House , The Children's Wish Foundation or donors choice.Â
