Obituary of Melbourne A. Leslie

The sad and unexpected death of Melbourne (Mel) A. Leslie of Brown's Flat, NB, husband of Raymah E. (Henderson) Leslie occurred Wednesday June 4, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on Deer Island, September 11, 1926, he was the son of the late Archie and Mabel (Eaton) Leslie. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Wayne (Marsha) Brown's Flat, NB, Albion (Barbara) Grand Manan, NB, two daughters Karen Fox (David), Grand Bay-Westfield, NB, Julie Wallace (John) Calgary, Alb., eleven grandchildren Rick, Blair (Beth), Al (Carlene), Kyle (Lynn) and Aaron Leslie, Jeff, Trevor, Christa and Kimberly Fox, Jamie (Tommy) and Jolie Wallace, eight great grandchildren, Nicholas, Kirkland, Adair, Dana, McKenzie, Raina, Aubrey, Martine and Grace, one brother Richard (Marion) St George, NB, four sisters Margaret Patterson, Rothesay, NB, Barbara Kirkeguard (Gill), Saint John, NB, Jean McDonald (Don) of McDonald's Point, NB, Alice Hanson (Gordon) of New Denmark, NB, several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by one brother Clayton. Mel worked in the fishing, farming and trucking industry during his life. Mel was an active member of Brown's Flat United Baptist Church serving as deacon and in the choir. He was a kind and gentle person who will be fondly remembered by his family and many friends. Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, (634-7425) in charge of arrangements. Visiting will be held Friday 7-9 PM, and Saturday 2-4,7-9 PM. Funeral to be held at the Brown's Flat United Baptist Church on Sunday June 8, 2003 at 2:00 PM., with interment to follow in the United Baptist Cemetery. Remembrances to the Cancer Society, Gideons, or donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
