Obituary of Willis P. Price

The death of Willis Percy Price of Saint John West, NB occurred peacefully on Thursday, May 12, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Sussex, NB on March 27, 1927 a son of the late Easis and Blanche (Kierstead) Price. Willis had served in the Canadian Armed Services for thirty years having enlisted in February 1949; serving in Artillery, Airborne and Recruitment with his tour of duty including: Korea, The Arctic, Vietnam, two terms in Germany and Quebec during the FLQ crisis. While in the Army he played on and coached various hockey teams. Bill retired with the rank of Sergeant. Following his discharge he was employed with Estey's Driver Education as an instructor. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 69 and for the past twenty years he volunteered for Meals on Wheels and drove for the CNIB. His many hobbies and interests included: woodworking, hockey, playing guitar and country music. Survived by spouse, Wilma (Angevine) McGinnis; step-children, Patrick (Sharon), James (Shannon) and Michael (Lynn) McGinnis and Donna (John) Robichaud; step-grandchildren, William, Gillian and Frances McGinnis, Erin (Kurt) Wentzell, Rebecca Robichaud, Kerry and Sean McGinnis and Benjamin McGinnis and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife, Barbara (Wilson) Price; brothers, John, Howard, Edward, Wilfred and Reginald; sister, Mary Christie; step-daughter, Kathy McGinnis and his parents; Willis was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Rd., Saint John (506) 634-7425. At his request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
