Obituary of David A. Campbell

The death of David A. Campbell of Kennebec Manor Nursing Home, Saint John, occurred on Monday, July 11, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. David was born in Boston, Mass. On February 16, 1924 and was raised in the New Brunswick Protestant Orphanage. At the age of 16, David went to work as a farm labourer at the Arthur Long Farm in Acamac on South Bay and continued to work and live at the farm through four generations of the Long Family. During the 1960's, he worked in the construction Industry and was a member of the Labourer's Union until his retirement in the early 1980's. He is survived by his adopted family, Maurice Long (Wendy), John Long and Michael Long (Cathy) and their families. He was predeceased by Arthur and Mabel Long and Lawrence and Eileen Long. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West (634-7425), with visiting on Wednesday 5-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Bay View Chapel on Thursday, July 14, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jason Purdy, Chris Purdy, Jeffrey Long, Gregory Long, Ryan Long, Andrew Long and Katie Long. Remembrances to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
