Obituary of Murray Jamieson Armstrong

The death of Murray Jamieson Armstrong of Saint John, husband of the late Evelyn (Scott) Armstrong, occurred on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at Ridgewood Veteran's Wing. Born in Clover Hill, NB, he was the son of the late Robert and Violet (Jamieson) Armstrong. Mr. Armstrong was a Veteran of World War II serving with the Canadian Army and was a member of Sussex Branch #20, Royal Canadian Legion. Murray worked as an Equipment Operator with Irving Oil for 20 years before his retirement. He is survived by two sons, Gary Armstrong (Sandy) of Massachusetts and Carl McKnight (Charmaine) of Fonthill, ON, two daughters, Barbara Satterwhite (Don) of Richmond, VA and Merrilee "Sue" Laviolette (Duane) of Richmond, BC, four step-children, Myra Roberts (Dave) of Markhamville, Cheryl Livie (Paul) of Ajax, ON, Merritt Scott (Doris) of Fredericton and Paul Scott (Joanne) of Markhamville, 5 grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, three brothers, Lloyd Armstrong (Sally) of Saint John, Robert Armstrong Jr. (Jackie) of Sussex and Arnold Armstrong (Betty) of Moncton, two sisters, Marguerite Jones of Las Vegas and Doreen Jefferies of Sussex, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Evelyn (Stanley) Armstrong. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West (634-7425) with visiting on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, November 25, 2005 at 1:00 PM. Interment in Riverbank Cemetery, Norton. Remembrances to the Sussex Branch #20, Royal Canadian Legion or the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a tribute to a Veteran service on Thursday at 7:45 PM at the funeral home.
