Obituary of John Joseph Crain

The death of Jack Crain age 79 formerly of Lakewood, occurred on Friday, September 26, 2003 at the Ridgewood Veteran's Wing, husband of the late Rita (Faugault) St. Onge who passed away on February 2, 1996 at Sussex, NB. Born in Bristol, NB on February 22, 1924, he was the son of the late Beecher and Edna (DeMerchant) Crain. He is survived by four sons Danny of Moncton; Patrick and his wife Barbara; John and his wife Mary all of NB; Doug and his wife Joyce of Ontario; two daughters, Jene Huggard and her husband Tony of Sussex; Elaine Jarry and her husband Richard of Montreal; several grandchildren and one sister, Betty Chase of Stickney, NB. Jack will be sadly missed by all. Jack was a veteran of World War II, he served in the Canadian Army and saw duty in Italy, France and North Africa. He was an honorary member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 69. Jack was also an avid motor mechanic all his life. Many friends and customers would remember him from Star Motors, Wilson Motors, City Transit and J.D. Irving. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (506-634-7425) with visiting on Sunday, September 28, 2003 from 2- 4 and 7- 9 pm. The funeral service will be celebrated on Monday, September 29, 2003 at 2:15 pm from Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery Field of Honour. Remembrances may be made to the Gideon Bible Society or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. There will be a Royal Canadian Legion Tribute Service will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2003 at 7:00 pm.
