Obituary of Roberta Madge McCaughan

The death of R.M. "Elaine" McCaughan, wife of the late Douglas McCaughan, occurred on Sunday, October 8, 2006, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on December 24, 1920 in Red Bank, Northumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Stewart and Ethel (Allison) Harris. She resided in Ketepec for most of her life and attended the former St. Anne's Anglican Church in Belmont. Elaine enjoyed cooking, knitting and skating. She is survived by a son, Stuart (Pat) and a daughter, April (Bill) Preston, all of Darling's Island, NB; one brother, Gordon Harris of Red Bank; two sisters, Norma Flett of South Nelson and Thelma (Harold) Melanson of Saint John; three grandsons: Spencer, Nicholas and Jeffrey Preston; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Nan and Vera. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (506) 634-7425. By request there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2006 from The Church of the Good Shepherd, 668 Manawagonish Road, Saint John at 1 pm. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances made to The Anglican Parish of the Nerepis and St. John Memorial Fund or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
