Obituary of Thelma G. Alston

The death of Thelma Alston, at the age of 92 years, of Saint John, NB, formerly of Grand Bay, NB, wife of the late George Alston, occurred peacefully on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at her residence at the Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born in Fairville, NB a daughter of the late Samuel H. and Jennie E. (McMaster) Knox. Thelma had been a member of Carleton Kirk Church. Survived by her daughter Marlene (Edward) Hector of Grand Bay … Westfield, NB; daughter-in-law, Jean Alston of Grand Bay … Westfield; five grandchildren: Barry Hector, Trudy (Brian) Dykeman, Gail (Tim) Cormier, Lynn (Joseph) Doucette, Judy (Gerard) McGuire; six great-grandchildren: Stephanie and Curtis Dykeman, Andrew and John McGuire, Brittany Cormier and Joseph Doucette; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her loving husband, George; son, Hollis George Alston; sister, Edythe Prefontaine; and brother, Allan Knox. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (506) 634-7425 with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Bay View Chapel on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at 12:30 pm. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Rocmaura Nursing Home Foundation.
