Obituary of Allan Alfred Murphy

Murphy, Allan Alfred – The death of Allan Alfred Murphy of Saint John, NB, husband of Marion Jean (Northrup) Murphy, occurred on Thursday, May 10, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born – March 28, 1924 in Central Greenwich, NB a son of the late A. Leo and Annie (Morgan) Murphy. Before his retirement, Allan had been employed as a carpenter with Saint John Shipbuilding. He was a member of several fiddle groups, including: Fundy Ayre Fiddlers, Park Avenue Fiddlers and Happy Go Lucky Fiddlers and volunteered musically at several nursing homes and hospitals throughout the greater Saint John area. Survived by a daughter Marilyn (Michael) Wornell of Quispamsis, NB; two sisters: Jennie McBeath of Saint John, NB and Anna (Vaughan) Morris of Grand Bay – Westfield, NB; two grandchildren: Allison and Dylan Wornell; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by three brothers: Charlie, Lawrence and Gerald; and three sisters: Pearl Doucette, Bernice Murphy and Rita Donald Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (506) 634-7425 with visiting on Sunday from 2 – 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Bay View Chapel on Monday, May 14, 2007 at 2 pm. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to a charity of one's choice.
