Obituary of Mary Margaret Garey

The death of Marg Garey, wife of the late Matthew Garey, formerly of Martinon occurred at the Turnbull Nursing Home on Friday, May 25, 2007. She was born in Judique Inervale, Cape Breton, NS on January 23, 1914 to the late Don and Isabel (McIntyre) McDougall. Marg came to Saint John as a young woman and worked as a waitress until she became a seamstress. As a seamstress she worked in the Saint John and surrounding area making drapery and upholstering furniture. Marg is survived by three sisters, Ann Gallant of Hampstead, New Hampshire, Flora McDougall of the Turnbull Nursing Home, Saint John and Cecelia McNabb of Reserve Mines, Cape Breton, NS and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Marg was predeceased by two brothers Joe and John McDougall. She will be greatly missed by her niece Beverly (Keith) Doiron and family. At request there will be no traditional visitation. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Augustine's Parish on Monday, May 28, 2007 at 10 am. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery following the mass. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
