Obituary of Louise Roberta O'Neill

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Louise Roberta (McAllister) O'Neill, (alias 'Mama Rika & later as Weezie). She was born October 7, 1930 to the late Wallace McAllister and the late Nan (Perry) McAllister of Saint John West. She was the wife of L. David O'Neill and the most wonderful mother of 11 children: Larry (Anne Marie) of Quispamsis, Mary Lou (Claude) Comeau of Rothesay, Ellen (David) Grant of Colbrook, NS, Kevin (Terri) of Quispamsis, Pat (Lesley) of Saint John West, Maureen O'Neill of Saint John West, Catherine (Tom) Curwin of Quispamsis, Michael (Mary) of Rothesay, Brian 'Big B' O'Neill of Saint John East, Paul (Tina) of Saint John West, and Carl Sabean of Grand Bay. She was also a loveable Nana to 23 grandchildren: Ryan, Kelly, Lee, Colin, Lauren, Kale, Rory, Seth, Miranda, Zachery, Madison, Ben Gillian, Marley, Taylor, and Camryn O'Neill, Kathyrn, Michael and Victoria Grant, Jonathon and Jenna Comeau, Allison and Caitlynn Curwin. Also surviving are her brothers Morton (Lois) McAllister of Saint John West, James (Sally) McAllister of Fredericton, sister and brother-in-law Eleanor and Joe Mallette of Loch Lomond and several nieces and nephews. Louise had been residing at St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home for almost 7 years. The many staff who looked after our mother were wonderful and caring people. To the Dialysis Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital – thank you for your care and devotion to our mom. Resting at Brenans Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road (634-7425), with visiting on Wednesday and Thursday fro 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 am from St. Rose of Lima Church. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Remembrances made to St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home, the Saint John Regional Hospital Dialysis Unit, the Kidney Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
