Obituary of Janet Elizabeth Young

Young, Janet Elizabeth – The death of Janet Young, wife of Robert Young, of Shamrock Street occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on July 31, 2007 after a courageous battle with heart disease. She was born on January 27, 1942 to the late John and Bertha (Savoy) Shewbridge. Janet was employed at the General Hospital as a Pharmaceutical attendant and later an owner/proprietor of Scenic (Morrisdale) and Young's (Kingston) Grocery and Gas Bar. She was a member of Our lady of Assumption Parish, Lancaster Lions Club and R.C.L. Ladies Auxiliary Branch #2. Janet is survived by one son: Paul (Maria) Adams; one daughter: Trina (Rob) Oliver; three step-sons: Mark (Christine) and Donnie (Debbie) Young and Bobby Young; two step-daughters: Loretta (Mike) Corey and Patti (Richard) Hawkes; five brothers: Herbert (Terry), James (Bev), John (Shirley) and Bobby Shewbridge and John Brody; one sister in-law Florine Shewbridge; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents Janet is predeceased by one brother: Walter Shewbridge. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425) with visitation on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A R.C.L. Ladies Auxiliary tribute will be held on Friday at 7 pm during visitation. The mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Assumption Parish on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 10 am. Interment in Old Cedar Hill Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Lung Association.
