Obituary of Leonard Joseph Vautour

Vautour, Leonard Joseph … The death of Leonard J. Vautour of Saint John West, NB, husband of Jeannine (Breau) Vautour, occurred on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on August 16, 1936 in Acadiaville, NB, a son of the late Leonide and Elodie (Mazerolle) Vautour. Leonard had been a Heavy Equipment Operator with Galbraith Construction, Stephens Construction and Gulf Operators. Survived by his wife of 49 years, Jeannine; two sons: Gerald (Ellen) of Middle Sackville, NS and Roger of Saint John; four brothers: Gerald (Laura) Thebeau of St. Ignace, NB, and Edward, Gerry (Pauline) and Vic (Rita) Mazerolle, all three of Saint John; one sister, Edmee Steed of Pasadena, CA, USA; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his grandparents, Edward and Marie (Thebeau) Mazerolle, who brought him up from an early age; a brother, Ted Mazerolle; a sister, Georgina Johnson; and several others. Resting at Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Rd., Saint John (506) 634-7425 with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of the Assumption Church on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 10 am. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances made to the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by the family.
