Obituary of David Sean Smith

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of David S. Smith of Avery Lane, Saint John, NB, on Thursday, January 15th, 2004, at his home, with loving wife Linda (Martin) Smith at his side. Born in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late Roy and Audrey (Griffin) Smith. David and his brother Jeff co-owned and operated D & J Smith Construction Ltd. and David was also a member of the International Longshoreman's Association, Local 273. He is survived by one sister, Tanya Miller (Rod Morrison) of Halifax, NS and one brother Jeff Smith (Joanne) of Saint John, NB; mother-in-law, Beatrice Martin of Saint John, NB and father-in-law, Gordon Martin (Dorothy) of Windsor, NS; brother-in-law, Mike Martin (Dawn), three sisters-in-law, Patricia Martin, Karen Richard (Ross) and Claudine Martin; nieces and nephews, P.J., Amber, Mark, Shyla, Luke, Annette, Tasha, Ashley and grand-nephew Bailey; and his beloved black lab, Tia. He was predeceased by both parents and brother-in-law, Pat Martin. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, West (506) 634-7425, with visitation on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 19th, 2004 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Dufferin Row, West, at 12:00 noon. Interment will take place at a later date. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Animal Rescue League, Romero House-soup kitchen, or a charity of the donor's choice.
