Obituary of Rita Marie Maguire

Maguire, Rita Marie … The passing of Rita Marie Maguire of Lorneville, NB, beloved wife of Malcolm Maguire, occurred peacefully, surrounded by her family on Monday, March 9, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Saint John on June 10, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Amelia (Landry) Driscoll. Rita was formerly employed as a consultant at Colors and was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church. She loved life and enjoyed bowling, knitting, cross stitching, traveling, tailoring and was a fan of the Blue Grass Festivals, but most of all her family. Besides her husband, she is survived by four children, Jillian (Steven) LeBlanc of Lorneville, Susan Keirstead (Robert Montgomery) of Saint John, Michael (Kathryn) Maguire of Saint John and Lisa (Gerry) Johnston of Lorneville; a brother, Russell (Delores) Driscoll of Lorneville; two sisters, Doreen (Leonard) Williams and Doris (Carroll) Seeley, both of Lorneville; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (506) 634-7425 with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Rose of Lima Church on Thursday at 10:00 am. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to any charity of choice. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Doctors and Nurses on the 7th Floor of St. Joseph's Hospital for their extra kindness, care and generosity during Rita's stay at the hospital.
