Obituary of James Long

Long, James Edward – The death of James Edward Long of Lorneville, NB, beloved husband of Brenda Jean (Keirstead) Long occurred on April 12, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Moncton, NB, he was a son of Robert and Frederica (Watters) Long and moved to Lorneville in 2000. James worked as an automotive technician for several years before launching his own business "Longway" wood construction which he found very fulfilling and he was well liked and respected in both professions. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Gram and Grampy, George and Laurien (Schurman) Long and his maternal grandparents, Pappa and Nanny, Fred and Frances (Weldon) Watters. Besides his wife, Brenda, and his parents he is survived by a step-daughter, Angela Gilbert and a step-son, Ryan Lohnes; step-grandchildren, Andrew and Braeden Gilbert; a sister, Kim (Leo) Melanson, of Moncton; a brother, Rob (Sheila) Long of Saint John, NB; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herb and Velma Keirstead of Lorneville; brother-in-law, Ken Keirstead of Musquash, NB; three nieces, Tanya (Ryan) Baisley and Alicia Melanson (Luc), both of Moncton and Erin (Mike) Blagden of Musquash; four nephews, Luc and Andre Melanson, both of Moncton, Michael Keirstead (Anne) of Saint John and Matthew Keirstead of Musquash; one uncle and aunt, Jim (Natalie) Watters of Caissie Cape, NB. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (506) 634-7425 with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2009 from Bay View Chapel at 11:00 am with a reception to follow. Interment will be in Lorneville Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to any charity of choice. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. West and the staff of MICU 4th floor, staff of Palliative care and the Emergency room at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their kind and gentle care. www.bayviewfh.com
