Obituary of Peter Gerard Landers

The death of Peter Gerard Landers of Grand Bay … Westfield, NB, husband of Mary-Jo (Murphy) Landers, occurred on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, NS due to complications following liver transplant surgery. Born in Saint John on March 1, 1957, he was a son of the late Joseph G. and Ethel (Fowler) Landers. Peter was self employed, owning and operating PGL Technical Services Inc. and was a member of the Certified Engineering Technologists Association (CET). He was very interested in having all children involved in sports activities. He was instrumental in having children play hockey through PRO Kids. He was past-president of Lancaster Minor Hockey, past-president of Southern New Brunswick Minor Hockey and treasurer of District #5 Minor Hockey. Besides his wife, Mary-Jo, he is survived by two sons, Peter Joel (Nicole Cole) and Colin Patrick, both of Grand Bay … Westfield; one brother, Gerald (Jackie) of Saint John; two sisters, Colleen (Gary) Knudson and Susan (Mark) Court, both of Saint John; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Murphy-Walsh (Alan) of Ottawa, ON; grandson, Morgan; one aunt, Janet Fowler; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (506) 634-7425 with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Rose de Lima Church on Monday, June 1, 2009 at 10:00 am. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
