Obituary of Vernon Thomson Anderson

The death of Vernon Thomson Anderson, formerly of Grand Bay-Westfield, husband of the late Norma (Campbell) Anderson, occurred on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Hampstead on August 12, 1924, he was a son of the late Albert and Sarah (Gaunce) Anderson. Vernon was a Veteran of World War II, and was employed at the Saint John Regional Hospital as an electrician until his retirement. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Grand Bay Branch # 22, and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Vernon is survived by a daughter, Debbie Anderson of Grand Bay; sons Drew Anderson (Tammy) of Hampton and Blaine Anderson (Linda) of Hampton; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey, Lindsey, Kelly, Rebecca, Lorne, Maxwell, and Alexander; a great grandson, Boston Anderson; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and his parents, Vernon was predeceased by brothers Beverly, Valentine and Al Anderson. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West (634-7425), with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 2:00 PM from Bay View Chapel. Interment will take place in the Central Hampstead Cemetery.
