Obituary of Joel Rathje Cochrane

Cochrane, Joel Rathje … It is with profound sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Joel Rathje Cochrane youngest son of Janice (McCarthy) Cochrane and the late Lloyd James Cochrane on November 19, 2009. Joel was born in Saint John on October 20, 1986 and lived most of his life in Brown's Flat, NB. He graduated from Saint John High School and was employed with Fundy Linen and Fundy Honda while he pursued a career in music his greatest passion. He was a very talented singer, song-writer and guitarist. He formed his first band Itchy while in Middle School and was most recently the lead guitarist with the band 16th Avenue. He will be sadly missed by his friends Erin, Julie, Cory, Amanda, Jodi, Adam, Chris and Mike. Survived by his mother Janice, two sisters: Christina Richards (Jeffery) of Central Greenwich and Rhonda Carson (Howard) of Oak Point; five brothers: Lloyd Cochrane (Tracy) of Brown's Flat, James Cochrane of Pearsonville, Bradley Cochrane (Nicole) of Brown's Flat, Adam and Brian Cochrane of Saint John; several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. There will be no visitation by request of the family and a private Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine's Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, Saint John West, NB.
