Obituary of Andrew Galley
The family of Andrew Galley sadly announces his death, which took place at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, November 8, 2010, shortly before midnight. Andy was born to Terence (George) and Barbara Galley, on August 20, 1965, in Gosport, England. He spent most of his childhood in England, except for two years spent living in Australia. Andy moved to Canada in 1981 with his parents, where his working career with Unisource took him from Halifax to Saint John and then to Moncton. At the time of his death, Andy was residing in Saint John. Andy was happiest when spending time with his family, and many friends. He enjoyed golfing, biking and playing darts. His annual fishing and camping trips were a much anticipated highlight. Andy was an avid music lover and attended countless concerts over the years. In particular, he was a huge fan of the Grateful Dead. He will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor and his wonderful laughter. He showed great courage and determination in the face of his illness. Andy is survived by his parents of Riverview, NB; his brother, Carl (Susan) of Saint John, and family members in England. He also leaves to mourn his many special friends. Andy was predeceased by his grandparents. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road (634-7425) with visiting on Saturday, November 13, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. At Andy's request there will be no funeral service. However, a eulogy will be delivered at 2:00 PM during the visitation. A private interment will take place at a later date in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, and keeping with Andy's wishes, donations to Ridgewood Addiction Services would be appreciated.
