Obituary of Jerome Joseph Arseneau

The death of Jerome Joseph 'Jerry' Arseneau, age 85, cherished and devoted husband of Mary Eleanor (Babineau) Arseneau, occurred on April 16, 2004, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Rogersville, NB, he was the son of the late Pierre Thadius and Rosaline (Gallant) Arseneau. He was employed in the Traffic Division for the City of Saint John retiring as supervisor in 1983. He will forever be remembered for his faith in God and his love of family and all mankind. He was called the family cook and took much pride in serving the most delicious meals right up till a week before his death. He was an active member of St. Rose of Lima Church and was a member of the Fairville Volunteer Fire Department. He was loving father to his son Peter and his wife Colleen of Saint John, his daughters Joan and her husband Douglas Marks of Saint John, Theresa 'Tee Tee' and her husband Gary MacAllister of Saint John, and will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Ryan and Lindsay MacAllister and Mary Beth Marks and was proud 'Poppie' to his great granddaughter Lily. He is also survived by his brothers, Camille of Quebec, Gloris and his wife Irene of Morna, Leo and his wife Della of Gardiner, Mass, his sister Jeannine and her husband Leo Poirier of Rogersville, his sisters-in-law Geraldine Arseneau of Dieppe, Theresa Arseneau of Shediac, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he is predeceased by his brothers Augustine, Marcel, Gerard and Joseph and his sisters Theresa and Madeline. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 19, 2004, at 10:30 AM, from St. Rose of Lima Church. Following cremation interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. Remembrances made to the Oncology Department of the SJRH, the Canadian Cancer Society, the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of choice would be appreciated.
