Obituary of James Michael Biddiscombe

Surrounded by his family, the death of Jim Biddiscombe, husband of Lois (Pyne) Biddiscombe occurred on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born on September 18, 1939 in Saint John to the late James and Elsie (Melanson) Biddiscombe. James worked at Atlantic Wholesalers for years retiring as manager. He then was an owner and operator of Moe's Fruit Mart. Jim was an outdoorsman; he loved to hunt and fish. He was an avid hockey fan and gardener. Besides his loving wife of over 45 years, Lois, Jim is survived by his daughter, Leigha McCarty of Grand Bay-Westfield; his adored grandson, Tanner McCarty; brother, Earl Biddiscombe (Kay) of Saint John; sisters; Carol Lunney (Dan) of Riverview and Lois Brown (Jack) of Saint John and several nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his parents and infant grandson, Dennis James "DJ" McCarty. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends; especially his loving companion, his dog Maggie. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425) with visiting Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan's Bay View Chapel on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 11 AM. Interment will take place in St. Augustine's Cemetery at a later date.
