Obituary of Stella Gertrude Harris

 Surrounded by her family, the death of Stella Harris, wife of Reginald Harris occurred on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the Saint John Residential Hospice. She was born March 23, 1927 in Geary, NB to the late Spurden and Hilda (Howe) Carr. Stella and Reginald were married for 61 amazing years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother; she devoted her life to her family. Stella was a great cook and loved to travel, garden and camp in her spare time.  Besides her husband, Stella is survived by her two sons, Reginald (Hope) of Saint John and Floyd (Melanie) of Grand Bay-Westfield; brother, Edward Carr; sister, Edna Johnson (Eldon); brother-in-law, Bernard Reid; four grandchildren: April (Mike), Reggie (Miranda), Katelyn and Thomas; five great-grandchildren: Megan, Stephanie, Ryan, Alexis and Logan and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and sister, Velma Reid.  Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425). A private graveside service will be held at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the Bobby's Hope House, Extra Mural Program or Kennebec Manor would be appreciated by the family.
