Obituary of Mabel Short

It is with great sadness that her family announces the passing of Mabel Short of 1100 Manawagonish Road, widow of David E. Short on April 26, 2011, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She arrived in Saint John in 1946 from Scotland with her husband and twin daughters. She is survived by daughters Joan (Wayne) MacKenzie of Saint John, June (Jim) Wolstenholme of Fredericton, as well as grandchildren Shelley (Stan) Brehaut of Saint John, Tracey (Rick) Flann of Long Reach, Tanya Wolstenholme (Pierre Fortier) of Brigham, QC, Kimberley Wolstenholme (Darrell Longley) of Bedford, NS, and Jonathan Wolstenholme (Marlene LeBel) of Victoria, BC. She is also survived by six great grandchildren, and several family members in Scotland. Mrs. Short was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, a past member of the Westfield Golf and Country Club, and a veteran of the Second World War, serving in Scotland and England. There will be no visitation, by request of our mother. A private family service will be held, with interment taking place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery – Field of Honour, with her husband David. In lieu of flowers, donations to Cat Rescue Maritimes (CA-R-MA.org, Fredericton), or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
