Obituary of Brenda MacArthur

The death of Brenda (Rudd) MacArthur, wife of the late Ivan Gilbert MacArthur, occurred at Bobby's Hope House, Hospice Saint John on June 29, 2011. She was born on January 25, 1921, in Twickenham, Middlesex England and was the youngest child of the late Charles and Florence (Siggery) Rudd.   She came to Canada in February, 1946 as a war bride residing in the Fairville and Milford areas of Saint John. She was a member of the Saint John War Brides Association, and was active in the Kiwanis Junior Pipe Band. She was active in senior's affairs and was Past President of Hillcrest Village Seniors Club, and was also a member of the C-Kers UCW at Carleton Kirk Church. Brenda attended the Saint John Modern Business College and had worked at the K-Mart, Armstrong and Bruce Insurance and Acadia Life Insurance Co.  Brenda is survived by her children: Robert (Linda) MacArthur of Douglas, NB, Susan (Wayne) Watson of Garnett Settlement, NB, grandchildren: Ivan Richard MacArthur of Calgary, AB, Rachel (David) Baggott of Dubai, U.A.E, Amy (Chris) Brown of Garnett Settlement and Melissa (Matthew) Martin of Willow Grove, NB, great-grandchildren, Austin Martin, Nate Brown and Mya Brown; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, husband, 1st great-grandson, Riley Brown; brothers, Jack, Russell, Frederick and sisters, Joan Canneaux and Edith Samways.  Resting at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West (634-7425), with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 4 2011 at 12 noon from Brenan's Bay View Chapel. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Ext.
