Obituary of Harry William Gaunce

Gaunce, Harry William – The death of Harry W. Gaunce, husband of Audrey Gaunce (Speakman) occurred at the Chateau de Champlain on Thursday, August 4, 2011. He was born on April 28, 1924 in Upper Kent to the late William and Jewell (Salmon) Gaunce. Harry served his country overseas in World War II. He was involved with the campaigns in France, Holland and Belgium and the defense of England. Following the war, he worked for Fuller Brush and followed by 25 years with Canada Life. He was an active member of the Shiner's and RCL Branch #69.  Harry is survived by his wife; four children: David (Brenda), Carl (Suzanne) both of Saint John, Gregory Gaunce of Toronto, ON and Sandra Estabrooks (Keith) of Hampton; three grandchildren: Kevin, Trina and Ethan; two brothers: Chris (Sharon) and Frank (Nancy); three sisters: Etha Gaunce, Elizabeth Chapman (Keith) and Dorothy Nickson; daughter-in-law, Pearl Gaunce and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, sons, Ross and Donald; brothers: Jack, Robert and Charles and sister: Mary Bell.  Resting at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425), with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Bay View Chapel on Monday, August 8, 2011 at 11 AM. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
