Obituary of Donald Garfield Lee

Donald Garfield Lee of Dipper Harbour, husband of Patricia Ann (Norris) Lee, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, following a period of failing health. Born at Saint John on September 5, 1936, he was a son of the late Robert and Ida (Friars) Lee. Donald was employed at the Simms Brush Factory, retiring in 1996. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid Montreal Canadiens Fan. In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by his son, Donnie Lee (Charlene) of Dipper Harbour; a sister, Dianne Schaefer (Robert) of Saint John; a brother Gordon Lee of Vernon, BC; half brothers Wayne Lee (Mary) and Bobby Lee (Mary) and half sisters Donna Friars and Carol Friars, all of Saint John; a sister-in-law, Audrey Trecartin of Wickham; and several nieces and nephews. Donald was predeceased by siblings Vivian Martin, Connie Martin, Eleanor Matzen, Phyllis Allen, Edward Lee, Marie Poirier, and Bobby Lee; a sister-in-law, Barbara Butler; and by his parents-in-law, Carl and Mary Norris. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West, with visiting on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Brenan's Bay View Chapel. Interment will take place in the Maces Bay Community Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Kidney Dialysis Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital would be appreciated by the family. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.brenansfh.com.
