Obituary of F. Colby McLellan

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of F. Colby McLellan of Saint John, husband of Mary Gertrude McLellan, which occurred on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Ridgewood Veterans Wing. Born in Saint John on March 22, 1925 he was a son of the late Richard and Bertha (Speight) McLellan. Â Colby was a veteran of WWII and also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 2. He loved to play ball, darts and watch wrestling. He was a very loyal, loving and devoted father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother and uncle he will be sadly missed by all who new him. Colby worked for the CNR and retired as a commissioner at St. Joseph's Hospital and the old DVA Hospital. Â He is survived by his wife, Gert; daughter, Florence (Randy) Saunders; sons, Colby Smith, Thomas (Lois) Smith and Leonard Coseman; eight grandchildren, Randy, Ronnie, Leonard, Kyle, Cerra, Florence, Brenda and Tammy; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Helen, Thelma and Phyllis; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his 1st wife, Florence May; several brothers and sisters. Â Resting at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road (634-7425) with visiting on Friday, December 30, 2011 from 2-9 PM. A tribute to a Veteran Service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 10:00 am from Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home Chapel. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Prostate Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
