Obituary of John Edward Gallagher

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of John Edward Gallagher of Saint John, NB, husband of Margaret Bockus, which occurred on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Bobby's Hospice. Born on August 26, 1949 he was a son of the late Edward and Marguerite (Svinicki) Gallagher. John was employed with Comfort Inn in their maintenance department. He was a member and Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of the Assumption. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, bee keeping; and was a carpenter for 35 years. Besides his wife Margaret he is survived by two daughters: Jennifer Patterson (Darren Hogan) of Fredericton, and Erin Gallagher (John Nolan) of Saint John; two sons: Michael Wills (Janette) and Matthew Wills (Terri Spence) both of Saint John; one sister: Diane Holman (Delbert) of Wisconsin; five grandchildren: Thomas, Ryan, Liam, Shannon and Johanna; several cousins, nieces and great-nieces and great-nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by one son: Darren Gallagher. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425) with visiting on Sunday, January 8, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 9, 2012 from Our Lady of the Assumption at 10:00 am. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
