Obituary of James Edward Landry

James Edward Landry passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Sunday, April 15, 2012, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, after a brief illness. He was born in Saint John, Aug. 21, 1931, to George and Lida (Lobb) Landry. He joined the military at a young age, and was stationed in Germany. He worked as a pipefitter, firefighter, printer, and was a well-known blacksmith at harness racing tracks in New Brunswick. He is survived by his wife Lynn (Leavitt), son Michael and two granddaughters, and step-daughter Angie (Troy) Allan, all of Saint John; and one sister, Doris (Dorie) Gorham, formerly of Gorham's Bluff, Kingston Peninsula. Also survived by sons John (Bonnie) of Fredericton and Thom (Janine) of Peterborough, Ont.; daughter Donna (Chris) Mulholland, Fredericton; former wife Barbara (Quigg), Fredericton; seven grandsons, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Murray and Robert, and one sister, Connie Clair. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB, (634-7425). As per James' request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Donations can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
