Obituary of Joanne Marie Sparks

The death of Joanne Sparks, wife of the late Wilfred Sparks, formerly of Manchester Avenue occurred on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born on March 13, 1944 in Saint John, NB to the late Frederick and M. Catherine (McCarron) Todd. Joanne graduated from Simonds High School then attended St. Thomas University in the Miramichi for a year. She entered training at the Department of Health Provincial Laboratory which she graduated from in 1965 as a Medical Laboratory Technologist. She mainly worked in the field of Hematology. Later in her career, she taught Hematology at the New Brunswick School of Medical Laboratory Technology.      She is survived by her brother, John Todd of Springfield; sister-in-law, Anne Foley (Mark) of Saint John; niece, Tammy McCarthy (Ken) of Perth, ON; nephews, Andrew Foley (Tracy Hanson) of Quispamsis and Thomas Sparks (Angela Gilbert) of Maple Ridge, BC. She was predeceased by her husband; parents; brother, Dr. Frederick Todd.  Resting at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425) with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Rose of Lima Church, 541 Milford Road on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
